The Study of the relationship between Job stress and spiritual health of nurses working in Intensive care ward at Bushehr Hospitals

Introduction: Occupational stress consists physical and emotional impacts on staffs and decreased efficacy is system.The effective method for decrease nurses stress improve their spiritual health. Objective: The aim of this study was the relationship between Job stress and spiritual health of nurses in Intensive care ward at Bushehr Hospitals . Method: This was descriptive- analytic (cross sectional) study. In which 140 nurses, working in critical care units of Bushehr Hospitals were selected through census sampling. The tools of data collection were spiritual health Paloutzian & Ellison questionnaire and hospital job stress HSS 35 questionnaires that were completed by self-report. Data was analyzed using descriptive statistical, pearson correlation and SPSS 23 software. Results: The results of study indicated that (46.4 %) of nurses have high stress. The total score mean of Spiritual health was 99.96±36.72. Pearson correlation test showed that in its all areas, there was negative and meaningful correlation between job stress and spiritual health (P<0.05). (P=0/0001 , r=-0/88). There was not a statistically significant relationship between demographic variables with job stress and spiritual health (P>0.05). Conculsion: According to the results of this study, increasing nurses’ spiritual health is related to decreasing their job stress that should be considered by nursing managment.
